Omni Accounts Manufacturing Module
Introduction
Omni's Bill of Materials allows for the creation of both recipes and sub-recipes,
enabling the manufacture/assembly of a stock item for other stock items. In keeping
with Omni's Inventory Control, there is no limit to the number of recipes and sub-recipes
which can be created in Omni Accounts.

Accurate Cost
Since the cost of the manufactured item is drawn from the cost of the raw materials
included in the recipe as well as additional costs such as labour and overheads,
the cost price of the finished article is both accurate and true.

Production Planning
Omni Accounts Manufacturing Module enables you to create a schedule of items due
to be manufactured. This is ideally suited to larger manufacturing concerns where
stock items need to be manufactured in advance.
A further function of this feature is the ability to project a stock-usage report
for every item due to be manufactured. Using Omni's Paste Special function, this
report can be pasted directly into a Supplier Purchase Order, should there be a
shortage of the required raw materials in stock.

Invoice-can-Manufacture
Omni Accounts Manufacturing Module is equally suited to the smaller business as
well as the retail environment. Typically stock would not be manufactured in advance
in these scenarios. Rather the raw materials would be available for purchase individually
or else together as a kit, with a consolidated price. Omni Manufacturing provides
for this scenario with an Invoice-can-Manufacture function, where a recipe is automatically
processed at the time of Invoicing. This reduces the raw materials required, automatically
'manufactures' the finished article, and then invoices it out to the customer, in
one seamless process.

Production Batches*
There are many businesses which require the ability to manipulate a recipe for any
number of reasons, be they special customer requests, an exchange of parts or external
environmental factors.
Through Omni's Production Batches, a recipe can be drawn onto a Job Card, where
changes to the ideal recipe can be made according to the physical manufacture. Once
these adjustments have been made, the recipe can be processed on Omni Accounts,
eliminating any variance between what is captured in the software and what was physically
manufactured.
*Requires on Omni Accounts Job Costing.

Production Decanting
In the event your business requires the ability to decant stock from one pack size,
for example, into another, Omni's Decanting Batch facility will be able to provide
you the functionality your business requires.
Decanting Batches enables the decanting of a stock item(s) into another stock item/s.
Through a series of stock issues and receipts, the source stock item(s) will have
their levels reduced and the target stock item(s)s will be increased.

Manufacturing with Serial and Batch Numbers
Omni Accounts caters for a serial number and up to three batch numbers per stock
item. Not only does this functionality apply to incoming and out-going stock items,
but it also extends to Omni's Manufacturing Module as well.
Using the example of a computer, comprised of a monitor, hard-drive, ram and a motherboard,
each containing their own serial numbers, Omni's Manufacturing Module would record
these serial numbers against the finished computer, which itself can be assigned
an entirely new serial number upon completion. These raw-material serial numbers
would then be permanently attached to the finished item's serial number, enabling
a full tracking of the stock items in question, from the time they entered into
your business, went through the manufacturing process, to the time they were invoiced
out to your customer. The same principle holds true for Batch Number Tracking.

Measuring Efficiency
Because the Omni Accounts Manufacturing Module and more specifically Omni's Bill
of materials works according to an 'ideal recipe', monitoring the efficiency of
your production operation according to inputs vs. outputs and the variance thereof
becomes a very simple process. This then offers you the ability to make corrections/adjustments
to your production facility in order to reduce these variances and increase the
overall efficiency of your plant.
