Deleting Accounts
1. How do I delete accounts?
Do an account enquiry to locate the account, or else list all accounts.
Select the account you would like to delete, and then click the red cross on the grid's tool bar.
If the account can be deleted it will be, otherwise if it can only be be deactivated then it will be deactivated.
If it cannot be deactivated or deleted, then you will get a message telling you why.
2. Why can I only deactivate an account, and not delete it?
Accounts that have transactions posted againt them, cann ot be deleted. If they do not have a balance though, then they can be deactivated.
Deactivation is much the same as deletion from the end user's point of view, the only difference being that deactivated accounts can still be reported on. Deactivated accounts can be reactivated again if neccessary.
3. How do I reactivate a deactivated account?
Do an account enquiry to locate the account, or else list all accounts.
To see inactive accounts, click on the filter button on the toolbar.
Put a tick in "Show Inactive" and then click Find.
Find the inactive account, and edit it by double clicking it.
There will be an "Is Active" checkbox. Tick it, and save the account.
The account is now active again.
